The lifeless body of a 22-year-old Guyanese was found in a pool of blood—just a stone’s throw from a night clubat Tabatinga, Lethem. The body was discovered early Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Morgan Gonsalves of Bonfim, Brazil. He was struck to the head with what police sources believe to be a metal bar.
According to information received, the deceased, who had been residing in Brazil for several years with his family, left home on Saturday to go to the night club.
He would usually visit the club every Saturday night and return home just before midnight.
The Guyana Standard was told that when 01:00 hrs passed on Sunday and the 22-year-old did not return home, his brother and a friend went to look for him. It was while heading to the night club; they discovered the lifeless body along the trail.
The body was taken to the Lethem Regional Hospital where it remains until a Post Mortem examination is done.
No one has been arrested as yet.
