Minister of Finance, Winston Jordan will tomorrow, seek approval from the National Assembly for a supplemental of $7,584,274,488 to make outstanding severance payments to sugar workers. The request forms part of the agenda for the 97th sitting of the National Assembly.
Minister Jordan said that once approved, sugar workers will be paid the balances. He is urging that the workers do not fall prey to or be fooled by cheap political propaganda.
Sittings resume tomorrow, following a period of recess. President David Granger is also expected to address the National Assembly tomorrow.
