While the National Cultural Centre Tarmac will be available for parking tomorrow and Saturday, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) through its Traffic Department has announced the closure of a number of thoroughfares.
The road closures which will commence at 17:00 hours tomorrow are intended to facilitate the Flag raising ceremony billed for D’Urban Park.
Among the roads that will be closed are: Mandela and Hadfield Street (No Entry West); Homestretch and Mandela Avenue (No Entry west); Brickdam and College Road. (No Entry East); Hadfield and College Road (No entry East); Haley and College Road (No Entry East); South Road and Oronoque Street (No Entry East); Chappel and D’Urban (No Entry North); D’Urban and John Street (No Entry North); Regent and Vlissengen Road (No Entry South) and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive and South Road (No Entry East).
Additionally, a number of other roads will be closed from 07:00hrs on Saturday February 23, 2019 for the Mashramani Celebration. These roads are: Camp and Lamaha Street (No Entry North); Cowan and Camp Street (No Entry East); Woolford Avenue and Camp Street (No Entry West); Camp and Barrack Street (No Entry East); Camp and Thomas Land (No Entry West); Parade and Young Street (No Entry North); Young and High Street (No Entry East); Camp and Seawall Road (No Entry South); Dowdin Street and Vlissengen Road (No Entry West); Lamaha and Irving Street (No Entry East); Danrad Street and Vlissengen Road (No Entry West); Da Silva Street and Vlissengen Road (No Entry West); Garnett Street and Vlissengen Road (No Entry West); Barimita Avenue and Vlissengen Road (No Entry West); Eping Avenue and Vlissengen Road (No Entry West); Woolford Avenue and JB Singh Road (No Entry East); Anira and Irving Street (No Entry East); Laluni and Irving Street (No Entry East); Church and Peter Rose Street (No Entry East); North Road and Shiv- Chanderpaul Drive (No Entry East); South Road and Shiv- Chanderpaul Drive (No Entry East); Brickdam and Old College Road (No Entry East); Hadfield Street and Old College Road (No Entry East); Hadfield and Chappel Street (No Entry West); Mandela and Homestretch (No Entry West) and Mandela and Hadfield Street (No Entry West).
