A transparent tendering process through the National Procurement and Tender Board Administration (NPTAB) will be the mode undertaken by the Ministry of Education to procure robotics intended for primary schools across the country.

According to information released by the Ministry, the tendering process will be embraced to select the most suitable partner that meets all the necessary requirements to meet the national robotics need.

Once selected, the Ministry of Education said that it will then work with that company or individual to improve the quality of education that is offered to the nation’s children.

The Ministry’s disclosure comes on the heels of what they deemed inaccurate allegations about the procurement process.

The Ministry in a statement said that it has taken note of a social media post regarding a recent robotics demonstration it hosted as part of its efforts to engage possible partners to introduce robotics into primary schools.

In that post, several inaccuracies were peddled, the Ministry said. Moreover, the Ministry of Education sought to provide what it described as clarity on the said matter in order to put any lingering doubt or suspicion to rest. It was asserted further that the Ministry has not yet awarded a contract to any company or individual for the procurement of robotics to be introduced into primary schools. The Ministry said it is currently looking at potential partners with a view of understanding the dynamics of this new frontier.
