In an effort to build capacity, 31 ranks from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) will benefit from a one week course on strategic communication.
The workshop, ‘STRATCOM’, is aimed at meeting the demands of an ever-changing, technologically advanced era and it will be facilitated by a specialist from the Military Information Support Team (MIST) from the United States Army.
During the one week period, the participants will be familiarized with STRATCOM Planning, Target Audience Analysis, Strategic Campaign Development, Product Development and Design, and Evaluation etc.
The ranks attending this seminar were chosen from the Force’s Public Relations Department as well as its Community Relations Offices throughout the seven Divisions.
Assistant Commissioner, Clifton Hicken encouraged the participants to make full use of the training and expertise which will be gained.
Recently, as part of the Guyana Police Force’s reform process, ranks have been engaged in nonstop capacity building activities locally and overseas to ensure that the Force operates at a level which is synonymous with international standards.
