Eight citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, including a tutor at the Hugh Wooding Law School, have been admitted to practice law in Guyana.

Their petitions were presented by local attorney-at-law Sanjeev Datadin before Justice Gino Persaud at the High Court in Georgetown a few moments ago.

Hugh Wooding Law School tutor, Mr. Marlon Moore, is the eldest of the batch at age 51 while the youngest lawyer is 25. In addition, a couple is among those who were admitted to the bar.

The newest addition to the Guyana Bar are: Martin Jadoonanan, Shirvan Ramdhanie, Ved Trebouhansingh, Shalini Teekasingh, Crystal Maharaj, Shashi Seecharan, Rhon Mitchell and Mr. Moore.

A majority of the lawyers obtained their Legal Education Certificates (LEC) from the Hugh Wooding Law School and their Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
