Following the resignations of four senior ministers and the relinquishing of their seats in the National Assembly, four new Members of Parliament (MPs) were today, April 26, sworn in during the 113th sitting of the Eleventh Parliament.
Mervyn Williams, Tabitha Sarabo-Halley, Donna Mathoo, and Reynard Ward are the newest MPs. They fill the seats vacated by former Minister of State, Joseph Harmon; former Minister of Public Service, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine; former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge; and former Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin. While Williams has served as an MP before, Sarabo-Halley, Mathoo, and Ward are first-timers in the National Assembly.
The four former ministers had resigned due to their dual citizenship status. The newest MPs were extracted from the APNU+AFC list of candidates.
