Archery fanatic Devin Persaud eyes 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Guyana could find its way into the upcoming 2020 Olympics to rival archery competitors from across the globe thanks to Devin Persaud, a local archer who will soon be participating in an international archery competition in The Netherlands.
The 29-year-old member of Archery Guyana is set to participate at the Hyundai World Archery Championships 2019 in The Netherlands. This competition is billed for June 3 through 16.
Persaud has his roots in the town of Rose Hall, Berbice but is currently residing in Canada. He has been involved in archery for the past five years during which time he became so passionate about the sport that he started Canada’s first online archery shop.
This business venture has been a platform from which he shares his passion while assisting with the continued growth of the sport, even as he aims to represent Guyana at the highest level.
Through his participation at the 2019 Hyundai World Archery Championships this June, Persaud is expected to position himself to secure a spot for Guyana in the 2020 Tokyo, Japan Olympics.
