A 23-year-old man who is accused of stealing 170 pounds (77.1 kilograms) of chicken was today charged and released on $10,000 bail for the offence.
Omalo Dick of ‘A’ Field, Sophia, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on January 22, 2019, at Mandela Avenue, he stole 170 pounds of chicken valued at $51,680, the property of Rawle Burkett.
While Police Prosecutor Adduni Innis did not disclose facts in the matter, she did not object to bail being granted to Dick.
The magistrate, after listening to the prosecutor, released Dick on $10,000 bail. Dick was instructed to make his next court appearance later this month for the commencement of the trial.
