Several civil matters dating back to the 1990s and 2000s are fixed for consideration and/or dismissal next week Wednesday and Thursday at the Court of Appeal in Kingston.
This is according to an advertisement published in the daily newspapers by the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Judicature.
Of the 94 matters set for fixture on the aforementioned dates, some of them were filed since from as early as 1998-2006, leading right up to 2016. Forty-two of the matters are fixed for Wednesday, July 10, while the remaining matters will come up the following day.
Apart from this, some of the matters involve the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GUYSUCO), the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL), the Attorney General, the University of Guyana (UG), the Registrar of Deeds, Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), and the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), among others.
