A 20-year-old woman is currently hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after being shot to the neck earlier today by her boyfriend who then shot himself to the head at Norton Street, Georgetown.
The incident happened sometime around 11:00 hrs.
Injured is Faith Thompson. The deceased has only been identified as “Daniel.” He died on the spot after shooting himself in the head.
According to information received, this morning Daniel went to visit the young woman who has been staying with her grandmother for the past couple months. The 20-year-old was home alone when he visited and neighbours said the young man was a frequent visitor so when they saw him entering the house this morning, they did not find it alarming.
It is unclear what triggered the shooting but no one reported hearing any arguments. Neighbours only told police that they heard two gunshots and then saw Thompson running out of the house holding her neck. She was immediately taken to the hospital.
