A 66-year-old man who was on an outgoing flight to the United States was arrested with 290 grammes of cocaine at the Cheddie Jagan International Airport (CJIS) yesterday, police say.
According to reports, the drug was unearthed in a pair of shoes the senior citizen was wearing. The suspect, who celebrated his 66th birthday yesterday, is cooperating with police investigators and will be arraigned before a magistrate tomorrow.
