A 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were yesterday released on bail on a joint breaking and entering and larceny charge.
Destiny Frederick, 19, and Andrew Clarke, 20, both of Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that they, between August 9 and August 10 at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, broke into the home of Sarah Adams and stole and number of articles valued at $286,000.
They were both represented by attorney-at-law Paul Fung-A-Fat who asked that his clients be released on reasonable bail.
According to information, on the day in question the duo broke into the victim’s house, stole the articles, and made good their escape on a motorcycle.
However, neighbours saw them leaving and informed the victim.
The matter was then reported, an investigation was carried out, and they were both arrested and charge with the offence.
With no objections raised by the prosecutor, both defendants were released on $50,000 bail. They were also instructed to make their next court appearance on September 11.
