A 21-year-old man killed his drinking buddy last night during an argument at Kumaka, Region One.
The victim has only been identified as “Muff” but the suspect is still unknown to the relevant authorities.
According to information received, the victim and the suspect were imbibing at a shop around 21:30 hrs when they got involved in an argument.
The Guyana Standard was told that the suspect picked up a piece of wood that was lying nearby and dealt the victim several lashes to the head.
The victim collapsed and died instantly.
Persons at the shop tried to intervene but the suspect threatened to hit them too. He ran away only when the victim died.
Investigation is ongoing.
