A Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD) family is mourning the death of one of their young relatives who was fatally stabbed late last night.
The incident happened at a fish and chip stall on the Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD)’s Public Road around 23:30 hrs.
The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Ravildo Williams of Friendship.
According to information received, the teen went to a wedding house in Diamond and on his way home; he stopped at the roadside stall to purchase a serving of fish and chips. The police said that shortly after the teen collapsed at the food place, a group of young men were seen running away from the location.
One of those persons is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
Williams was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre but later died.
The teen’s death is not believed to be a robbery.
