Andre Gordon, the US-based Guyanese whose nude body was found on the kitchen floor of his Lot 51 Station Street Kitty, Georgetown apartment last Sunday, was strangled.
This is according to a Post Mortem examination performed at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh.
Initially, Gordon’s death was being viewed as natural causes since there were no marks of violence on his body but now, investigators will be revisiting the crime scene to interview individuals who live in proximity to the apartment in which the victim was staying.
The US-based Guyanese who was scheduled to leave Guyana the day after his body was discovered, is believed to have been killed sometime between Friday night and Saturday night.
The owner of the apartment lives upstairs and had indicated to the police that he did not hear any strange noise.
According to information received, Gordon was last seen alive on Friday night. When his relatives did not hear from him on Saturday, they asked a friend to check on him.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that when the friend arrived and called out for the deceased, there was no answer but the door to his apartment was left open.
Upon entering, Gordon was found dead. The friend reported that he saw blood running from the deceased’s neck. There is no suspect in the murder as yet.
