While former ministers Carl Greenidge and Joseph Harmon have renounced their foreign citizenship and are likely to return to Parliament should the coalition remain in Office, former Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin has taken another route.
Gaskin confirmed today that he will not be returning to the AFC’s list of candidates.
From all indications, the AFC treasurer plans to remain in politics but just not as a Member of the National Assembly since it is illegal to do so while being a citizen of another country. Gaskin is a citizen of the United Kingdom.
Gaskin was among four ministers who resigned earlier this year following rulings by the High Court and the Guyana Court of Appeal,
The others are Harmon, Greenidge; Gaskin and Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine.
