A conductor, who was videoed dancing and leaning out of a moving minibus, has been charged and subsequently fined for inappropriate conduct; failure to ensure passengers’ safety; and untidiness. He was fined in the sum of $40,000 after he appeared before Her Worship, Fabayo Azore, at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court.
According to the police, after the video went viral, an investigation was conducted which led to the arrest of the two men. The incident occurred on November 15, 2019, at the Strathspey Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD) while several passengers were in the vehicle, BYY 1309.
The conductor, 27-year-old Jermaine Waldron of Haslington, ECD pleaded guilty to all charges.
Meanwhile, the driver: 28-year-old Trevin Bobb-Semple was charged with: tinted motor vehicle; untidiness; failure to control motor vehicle; breaching the condition of road service license; and dangerous driving .
He pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and was placed on $100,000 bail. Additionally, his driver’s license was suspended until the determination of the cases, which were postponed to March 19, 2020 .
