The search for a 16-year-old Brazilian, who came to party in Lethem last Friday, ended in a devastated manner yesterday when his mother was forced to identify his partially decomposed body.
Michela Simon Da Silva was able to identify her 16-year-old son, Oduan Macio Da Silva by tattoos on his arm and thigh.
The teen was found with multiple stab wounds about the body, including the chest and abdomen, on the foreshore of the Takutu River, Guyana on Christmas afternoon. His body was clad in a pair of black pants.
The deceased’s mother told the police that he left home with two friends to go and play football in Lethem after which he was going to join some other persons in the afternoon for a hang just after 18:00 hrs that same day.
The teen was never seen again until his body was found floating. No one has been arrested as yet.
