The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is looking to get off to a flying start in 2020 when they will partner with the National Sports Commission (NSC) and other sponsors to run off the 2020 edition of the National Senior, Junior and Cadet Championships later this month.
The events which will run concurrently, mark the beginning of GTTA’s calendar of activities.
The Championships will serve off from January 17-19 and January 24-26 with the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) on Homestretch Avenue as the designated venue.
The Junior and Cadet championships will see battles with boys and girls in the under-18 and under-16 categories along with a novices segment. Over in the Senior Championships, men and women will do battle along with the under-21 males and females, and B and C classes.
The National Championship is the premier domestic competition in Guyana and it will serve as a measuring stick for rankings and selection systems with an eye on the continental qualification event for Tokyo’s XXXII Olympiad scheduled for April 15-19.
The Caribbean Junior and Cadet Championships are scheduled for March while the Caribbean Senior Championships will be played from April 2-8 in Havana, Cuba.
