An-18-year-old who allegedly broke into the home of a man and stole a quantity of articles, was this afternoon charged for the offence.
Roberto Perez, a labourer of Kumaka, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on January 11, 2020, at Aquaro, Airstrip, North West Magisterial District, he broke and entered the dwelling house of John Perreira and stole a quantity of articles valuing $173,500.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
According to information, on the day in question, the teen broke into the victim’s home and removed the items.
The court heard that the matter was then reported and, following an investigation, he was arrested.
The prosecutor said that Perez was in custody for a while and the teen’s brother took officers to where the items were hidden. Hence, he was charged and place before the courts.
With no objections raised by the prosecutor, the teen was released on $50,000 bail.
Condition of the bail is that he report to the Aquaro Police Station every Monday until the hearing and determination of the trial.
He was instructed to make his next court appearance on January 17, 2020, for statements.
