Six months after being slapped with two armed robbery charges, a construction worker was today freed of both charges.
Thirty-one-year-old Linden Flavious of Agricola, East Bank Demerara, was on trial before City Magistrate Annette Singh in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

When the matter was called this morning, the Magistrate dismissed both matters on the grounds of insufficient evidence being offered.

It was alleged that on July 10, 2019, at Georgetown, while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, he robbed Ramserran of a phone valued at $78,000 and $140,000 in cash.
It was further alleged that on the same day and at the same location, Flavious, while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Allan Shaw of a bag valued at $22,000 and $11,000 in cash.

Flavious and one Ornest James were recently slapped with a joint attempted murder charge.

They were not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on July 11, 2019, at John Fernandes Squatting Area, they unlawfully and maliciously wounded Derick Nelson with the intent to commit murder. They are currently on remand for that offence.
