Investigators have confirmed that they have arrested a Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man this morning, hours after he brutally murdered his 44-year-old wife and threatened to kill their daughter.
Terrence Jackson slit his wife, Somattie Keosoram’s throat late last night at their Lot 36 Virginia Village, Cane Grove home.
Guyana Standard has been informed that yesterday afternoon, the suspect started accusing the woman of being unfaithful. This was said to be a regular occurrence in the home.
He allegedly accused her of taking money from one of her lovers to purchase items for their home. This reportedly caused the woman to take a mattress and put it in the living room to sleep.
The suspect however went to the living room and sat near the woman and continued harassing her about an alleged affair. During the argument, he went to the kitchen and collected a knife.
This news agency was told that before any of their children could intervene, the suspect stabbed the victim and then slit her throat. He tried to attack one of his daughters but she ran for her life.
The suspect then picked up his bicycle and escaped. The victim was pronounced dead at the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital.
