A 19-year-old man was this afternoon remanded to prison as he now awaits sentencing by a judge for rape.
The teenager who had been on trial for two counts of rape committed on a seven-year-old boy when he was just 14, was found guilty by a 12-person jury.
Guyana Standard understands that between December 1 and 24, 2015, the little boy was left alone with the teenager when he asked him to suck his penis.
The boy refused and as a result, the teenager locked the door and forced his penis into his mouth. The child later complained to his parents and a report was made to the police.
He returns to court on March 12, 2020 for sentencing. Prosecutors Teriq Mohamed and Mandel Moore appeared for the State.
This trial was heard at the Sexual Offences Court in Demerara.
