An Albouystown resident was today charged and granted bail for two offences after he appeared before a City Magistrate.
Twenty-three-year-old Niram Persaud, a security guard of Middle Street Albouystown, appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

The first charge against Persaud stated that on August 27,2019 at Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, he discharged a firearm at Phillip Sealey.

It was further alleged that on the same day and at the same location, he assaulted Phillip Sealey.

An unrepresented Sealey pleaded not guilty to both charges after they were read to him.
While the court prosecutor did not opposed to bail being granted to Persaud, he asked that conditions be applied.

The Magistrate granted Persaud bail in the sum of $110,000.

Condition of the bail is that he report every Monday to the Ruimveldt Police Station until the hearing and determination of the trial.
The father of two was instructed to make his next court appearance on May 29 when he will appear before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.
