Guyana has recorded its second Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) death.
According to sources, the man who is in his late 30s, succumbed to COVID-19 complications this morning after he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) earlier this week.
He is said to be a healthcare provider.
Sources have refused to divulge the name of the man, or where he resided. It is unclear how he contracted the virus. The Health Minister is expected to provide an update on the COVID-19 situation later today.
A Pan-american Health Organisation/World Health Organisation (PAHO/WHO) model had projected that Guyana could record some 1,400 cases.
