Police say they are investigating the murder of Jonathan John, 50, a miner of Parmakatoi, North Pakaraimas which occurred around 14:00hrs yesterday at Siparuni Backdam.
Reports indicate that he was shot by his son.
Investigation so far revealed that the victim and two others, inclusive of the suspect were imbibing at their camp when an argument ensued and the suspect allegedly shot the victim in the stomach with a handgun and fled the scene. He is still at large, sources say.
The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital Complex.
