From all appearances, one would think that the Management at MovieTowne received permission to open a mini-casino at its Turkeyen complex. But this is not the case says Head of the Gaming Authority, Roysdale Forde.
During an interview with Guyana Standard, Forde said that MovieTowne got permission to open a Gaming Lounge. He said that there is a “huge” difference between a casino and a Gaming Lounge. “The former has table games with live dealers and the latter does not…,” the official said.
But outside of what Forde noted, there isn’t much difference between the Gaming Lounge that is being operated behind the MovieTowne Complex and the one in operation at Princess Hotel.
The MovieTowne Gaming Lounge features several slot machines, some with similar games to those which are operated at the Princess Casino. It also has an automated Russian Roulette table which is a feature at the Princess Casino.
