The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases remains at 125.
According to the Director of Primary Health Care Services, Dr. Ertenisa Hamilton, of the 1295 persons testing, 1,170 were negative.
“We currently have 47 persons that have recovered, sixty-eight (68) active cases in institutional isolation, 3 patients in the COVID-19 ICU and the number of COVID deaths remains at 10.
Globally, the statistics, according to World Health Organisation (WHO) are as follows: the total number of cases is 4, 731, 458 with 316, 169 deaths.
In the Region of the Americas, the total number of cases is 2,082, 945 with 124, 668 deaths.
Residents of the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo (Region 9) are being urged to be “watchful and careful” as Brazil has now become the country with the third-highest number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the world, after registering a total of more than 250,000 cases.
“You remain extremely vulnerable and therefore every resident must be prepared to be his brother’s keeper in order to ensure the safety of everyone,” Dr Hamilton stressed.
