Hours after the suspect wanted in relation to the murder of a security guard was arrested following a shootout with ranks of the Guyana Police Force, he died while receiving treatment at the Diamond Hospital.
Keron Mark Adams for whom a wanted bulletin was issued yesterday, was apprehended around 13:45hrs in Mocha, East Bank Demerara after police ranks swooped down on the area.
The suspect, upon seeing the ranks, whipped out a handgun and began shooting at the law enforcers, who returned shots and wounded him. He was taken to receive medical attention at the East Bank Demerara Public Hospital( Diamond).
An unlicensed pistol was retrieved at the scene.
On Tuesday, 33-year-old Andrew Easton called ‘Lawless’, a security guard of Lot TKR 27 Reserve Dam, ‘C’ Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was shot three times.
Twice to the shoulder and once to the back by Adams while feeding his horse.
According to information, it was reported that around 09:00 hrs, the victim was tending to his horse when he was approached by Adams, who raised his gun and discharged several rounds in his direction.
The father of one, after being shot, attempted to run but collapsed a short distance away and died.
The man’s reputed wife, Samantha Shelto told reporters that the incident stemmed from an argument Easton had with the now dead suspect two days ago. The suspect had then threatened to shoot Easton and the matter was reported to the station, but according to her, “nothing was done.”
Easton’s mother-in-law, in an interview, stated that Easton informed her a few days ago that the suspect pulled a gun on him.
