An elderly man was found motionless early this morning at the Mon Repos Market, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is Victor Persaud, who is between the ages of 50 – 60 years old of no fixed place of abode.
Guyana Standard understands that this morning, a woman who normally visits the deceased found him motionless underneath a stall at the market. She immediately told a businessman from the community who went to investigate.
Upon doing so, the businessman went over to the market, where he observed the deceased lying face up wearing long blue pants. He immediately called the Beterverwagting Police Station and reported the matter.
Ranks were summoned to the scene and examined the man’s body, but no marks of violence were seen. The body was escorted to the Lyken Funeral home awaiting identification before a Post Mortem Examination (PME) is done.
