A Marketing Representative for G & J Distribution was this afternoon shot and killed at Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown.
Dead is 23-year-old Navindra Samaroo of West La Penitence, Georgetown.
Guyana Standard understands that the incident occurred just after 13:00hrs today.
The young man’s father, who asked to remain anonymous, stated that his son went home to collect lunch and was on his way back to work when he was shot. He added that by the time he arrived at the hospital, his son had already taken his last breath.
“I was at work when I got the message from my niece, and I left and went to the hospital, and he had already died,” the father stated.
Meanwhile, the owner of the company, Rampertab Etwaroo, stated that the young man did not have a substantial amount of cash at the time of the incident.
“I heard they take his bag thinking that he had money, but he doesn’t have money. From the bank, he went to GRA, where he spent a while,” Etwaroo explained.
The grieving father is now demanding that a thorough investigation be done into his son’s demise.
