Now that the March General and Regional Elections have concluded, it is now time for the Irfaan Ali-led regime to focus on reconciliation and start taking steps towards Constitutional reform. This is according to U.K Foreign Secretary and First Secretary of State, Dominic Raab.
The official said that he is delighted that the results are over and commended the Guyanese people for their patience. He noted, too, that the UK looks forward to further working with the new government.
In a tweet today, Raab posted: “Pleased to see the Guyanese election results finally announced. I commend the patience of all Guyanese people. UK looks forward to working with the new Government of Guyana. The focus now must be on reconciliation & taking steps towards constitutional reform”.
