President Irfaan Ali has received a congratulatory letter from the World Bank – Latin America and the Caribbean Region Vice President C. Felipe Jaramillo, who expressed a desire to further strengthen the partnership between Guyana and the Bank, under President Ali’s leadership.
In his letter, Vice President Jaramillo said: “We look forward to working with you and your Government, and to further strengthening our partnership under your leadership.”
The Vice President further conveyed to President Ali the “World Bank’s support as you tackle the immediate socio-economic impacts from the COVID- 19 pandemic and address the development challenges of the country.”
He also expressed the hope to meet soon with President Ali “to advance discussions on World Bank’s engagement in support of the country’s critical priorities.”
Vice President Jaramillo also wished President Ali success in his new mandate and assured him of “the World Bank’s continued commitment to contributing towards progress and prosperity for the people of Guyana.”
