The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), Lelon Saul, was fired yesterday. The move to terminate Saul’s contract is all part of the changes being made at Housing Ministry and is in line with keeping with the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) Government’s mandate of providing the best services to all Guyanese. This was according to the Minister of Housing and Water, Colin Croal.
Minister Croal confirmed that Saul received his one-month notice of termination, in keeping with his contract.
“We have looked at the entire Ministry, and Central Housing plays an important aspect in our housing drive and to ensure that we have delivery of more homes and house lots across the country,” the minister told the Department of Public Information (DPI) yesterday.
“We believe we need to change the leadership and have a different focus and to have performance,” Croal was quoted by the DPI as saying.
The minister said that the name of the new CEO will be an announced soon.
