Police are investigating the murder of John Yap, a twenty-two- year old Fisherman of Kilcoy Village, Corentyne Berbice, which occurred yesterday about 21:00hrs allegedly by an unidentified twenty-one- year old man of the same village.
Enquiries revealed that the victim and his wife, on the said date, about 19:00hrs left home and proceeded to a Superbet outlet at Kilcoy Village, Corentyne Berbice, where the victim and the suspect got into an argument (the reason for which is unknown) resulting in the suspect stabbing the victim to the chest.
The victim was then picked up and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital, was admitted and subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The suspect is still on the run as investigations continue.
