Police are investigating the murder of a 34-year-old Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara resident, which occurred two days ago at Big Creek Backdam, North West District.
According to reports, the now deceased, Kevin Baynes was playing cards with atleast two others. After the game, Baynes got into an argument with one of players. He went into his bag, took out a knife and hostered it on the waistline of his pants. He then took the player’s cellphone and refused to return same.
Thereafter, Baynes left the vicinity and was approached by the individual, during which he was dealt several stabs about his face and body.
Baynes was taken to the Port Kaituma Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body which is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
Two suspects, a 25-year-old and a 16-year-old, both of Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway are in police custody assisting with the investigation.
