Police are investigating the death of Lester Waldron, called “Redman”, of Republic Drive Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (E.C.D).
His body was found in a trench at his home village today at around 12:15hrs.
Police say that enquiries disclosed that Waldrond is an alcoholic and was last seen walking on Republic Drive consuming alcohol from a bottle.
The trench is located on the western side of the road. His body was fished out and examined for marks of violence, but none was seen.
Police later took the body to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead. The body is at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination. Investigation is ongoing.
