Digicel Guyana announced moments ago that it has further reduced overseas calling rates, bringing the number of countries customers can call for $30 to 100. Guyana Standard understands that Digicel subscribers can now call countries including China, Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Panama, St Maarten, Brazil, Venezuela, St Lucia, Dominican Republic and many more for the same low rate as calling a local number. “This is the first of many services and product changes customers can expect thanks to liberalization,” noted Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gregory Dean in a release to the media.
Dean noted that the rate reductions will result in the cost of overseas calls being significantly reduced by as much as 600% from the pre-liberalisation rates while adding that this will be a great benefit for persons keeping in touch with friends and family and business persons needing to conduct trade globally.
In conclusion, the CEO said that Digicel is making every effort to ensure customers see the promised benefits of liberalization in the shortest possible time.
