Police are investigating the murder of Jonah Williams, called ‘Wammick’, a farmer of Cassie Creek, Baramita, North West District, which occurred yesterday.
According to information received, Williams’ motionless body was found some time around 15:00hrs lying on a trial to the creek.
The matter was reported to the Baramita Police Station. Initial investigation revealed that the victim was killed by a man whose name was given to the police, but they have been unable to locate him.
The body was examined by the Police, where it was observed that Williams suffered a chop wound to the left arm and another to the left lower abdomen.
The body was later escorted to the Baramita Health Center where same was pronounced dead on arrival by the medex on duty.
The body is now at the Port Kaituma Hospital Mortuary, and is awaiting a post mortem examination.
