The Guyana Police Force is investigating the discovery of 1.877 kilogrammes of cannabis, and 7.6 grammes of cocaine in a lorry at Itabali today.
The Guyana Standard understands that the vehicle was at the time occupied by three individuals: the driver and two porters.
Following the discovery, one of the porters claimed ownership of the narcotics after his workmates told the police it was his.
He was subsequently told of the offense, cautioned, arrested and placed in custody pending charges.
