The Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kamer van Koophandel en Fabrieken of Suriname (the Suriname Chamber of Commerce and the KKF) to collaborate in Joint Ventures (JVs) to facilitate and energize trade and economic activities between the two South American nations.
The collaboration, both parties say, is a ‘tangible response’ to the commitment made by Suriname’s President, Chandrikapersad Santhoki and Guyana’s Head of State, Dr Irfaan Ali to bolster trade between the two countries.
The Guyana Standard understands that the collaboration will specifically explore joint investments in the short and medium-term, leading in deeper exchange of information and sharing of resources between both Chambers. Further, based on the document seen by this publication, the collaboration will provide businesses in both countries with legal information to enable them to pursue ventures with the benefit of precise and legally binding information.
