(GTT release) – The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) has awarded three talented individuals with free internet service for three months, as a result of their submissions to the company’s Diwali Home Light Up Competition.
“2020 has been a challenging year and we wanted to remind Guyanese that while we practice social distancing during this pandemic, we are connected as a people – and taking time to celebrate special occasions, like Diwali, remains important as a means to unite and literally provide rays of hope to us all,” said Orson Ferguson, GTT’s Chief Marketing Officer.
“Our virtual competition awarded very real effort to ‘light up’ homes and other special places with creativity. We thank those who participated – and wholeheartedly congratulate our winners,” Ferguson added.
Deodat Siriram, Tejyas Dasa Singh and Ambika Kowlessar-Lalbarry, were awarded first, second and third place winners respectively, based on their submissions and online votes received. They will each receive three months of Broadband service courtesy GTT.
The online ‘Diwali Home Light Up Competition’ was launched by GTT earlier this month with an open invitation to persons to submit an image of their ‘light up’ in commemoration of Diwali 2020.
