A 59-year-old gold miner is presently in police custody after being busted with 27lbs of marijuana.
The discovery was made between 04:00hrs and 06:00hrs on Friday at Victory Valley, Squatting Area, Wismar Linden.
According to reports, during a raid exercise, police conducted a search on the miner’s home, where two large shopping bags were found.
The shopping bags contained three large parcels and a white plastic bag with nine zip lock bags, all having a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be marijuana.
The gold miner was told of the offence and arrested. The illegal substance weighed a total of 12.kg or 27lbs.
