A 25-year-old woman is currently hospitalised at the Baramita Health Post after being allegedly stabbed with a broken bottle by her drinking buddy.
The injured woman has been identified as Joanna John. The incident occurred at about 21:50hrs at Barama Line, Baramita Village, North West District, on Friday.
Reports are that the two women were imbibing at a shop at Barama Line, Baramita Village, North West District when an argument ensued between John and the 25-year-old suspect.
During the argument, the suspect armed herself with a broken bottle and dealt John several stabs about her body. John then fell to the ground bleeding profusely.
The police were summoned to the scene, and John was picked up and rushed to the Baramita Health Post, where she was admitted as a patient.
The suspect was arrested and is assisting with the investigations.
