Chief Elections Officer (CEO) of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Keith Lowenfield, who is facing the courts on several electoral fraud charges, is presently on his accumulated annual leave.
GECOM’s Public Relations Officer, Yoland Ward, said that Lowenfield had applied on September 1, 2020, for his cumulative 2016- 2019 annual leave, which totalled 146 days.
His request was approved by the Chairperson, Justice (Ret’d) Claudette Singh, and his leave commenced on September 7, 2020. He is expected to return to work on January 30, 2021.
In the meantime, Deputy CEO Roxanne Myers, who is also before the courts on electoral fraud charges, is performing his duties.
