A total of six persons were arrested on Wednesday, following the discovery of a firearm, matching ammunition, and a quantity of ganja at Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice – Corentyne).
During the time of the bust, a team of Police ranks, commanded by a Superintendent carried out a cordon and searched exercise in several areas in Berbice, including Saint John Street, New Amsterdam; Pope Street, New Amsterdam; Sheetanchor, East Canje and New street Cumberland, East Canje Berbice.
A total quantity of 63.5 grams of cannabis was found and one .32 Beretta pistol along with 33 live .32 rounds, police said. Investigations are ongoing.
