Police are investigating a robbery under arms committed on Kevin Hope, a 34-year-old taxi driver of Lamaha Spring, North Ruimveldt.
According to reports, Hope was hired by a man from a city hotel about 20:00hrs on Tuesday night to take him to Good Success, East Bank Demerara.
Upon arrival, Hope was confronted by two suspects, one of whom was armed with a hand gun. The taxi driver was hit to his head with the gun, and a round was discharged in the air. They then ordered him to exit the vehicle to which he complied.
The two bandits then boarded the said vehicle with the passenger who was still in the car and drove off in a southern direction with the vehicle, HC 8929, a white new model premio valued at $3.2M.
One A21 samsung cellphone valued at $48,000, a jumper kit valued $15,000, motorola radio set worth $50,000 and $2,000 in cash were all stolen.
