21-year-old Akeem Brisport of Oronoque Drive, Retrieve Mc Kenzie, Linden, has allegedly committed suicide.
According to Police, the incident occurred today between 05:30 hrs and 06:30 hrs.
Guyana Standard understands that Brisport resided at the lower flat of the two-storey wooden structure.
Reports are that at about 05:30 hrs, Brisport’s mother, who lives in the upper flat, said that she was awakened by her son, who said that he was going to commit suicide.
She told investigators that she advised him to read the bible and went back to sleep.
At 06:30 hrs, the deceased’s mother was awakened again by a taxi driver, who informed her that her son was dead under her house.
The Police were subsequently summoned to the scene, and Brisport was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body is presently at the Jetsco Funeral Home, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
