Guyana has recorded 33 new COVID-19 cases from 327 tests, Health Ministry data show. The dashboard, recently released by the ministry also indicates active cases in the vicinity of 315, with 6,469 positive cases, 5,990 recoveries and 167 fatalities.
Of the 6,469 cases, 3,336 are males, with 3,133 females.
According to the data, five persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 20 in institutional quarantine, 287 in home isolation and eight in institutional quarantine.
Some 39,892 tests would have been conducted since Guyana confirmed its first imported case back in March last year.
Region Four (Demerara/Mahaica) continues to lead with the most infections, recording 2,753 or 42% of all reported cases. Region One (Barima/Waini) has recorded 957; Region Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni), 547; Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Berbice), 523; Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara), 461; Region Nine (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo) , 397; Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne), 312; Region Eight (Potaro/Siparuni), 210; Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), 201; and Region Five (Mahaica/Berbice), 108.
